Creating New Users

You can create new users in SAP Analytics Cloud.

  1. On the Users page of the Security area, choose  (New) to add a new user to the user management table.
  2. Enter a unique User ID.

Only the following characters are permitted: uppercase letters, digits, underscores, hash marks, and ampersands. Spaces are not allowed in the user ID. The maximum length is 127 characters.

  1. Enter the user name details.

If you do not enter a user name, the User ID is used as the name.

  1. Enter an Email address.

A welcome email with log on information will be sent to this address.

  1. Select the Manager who will approve requests this user makes for changes to access rights.
  2. Select  (Save).

If you do not use the SAP Cloud Platform Identity Authentication service (IAS), a temporary password must be set for all new users. The Set Password dialog opens automatically, and you must take the following steps:

  1. Enter a password, and confirm the password.

Passwords must have at least eight characters and contain at least one of each of the following character types: upper-case letters, lower-case letters, and digits.

  1. Select Set Password.

The new user will appear in the user list. A welcome email including first time login credentials will be sent to the user. The user will be prompted to reset the initial password.

Next Steps

You must assign roles to the new user or a default role will be applied. For more information, see Assigning Roles to Users.
